No I wasn't at the F-4. I fished the Cathlamet area instead, my buddies didn't want to fish that far up river. We had 4 people in our boat, we caught 5 and were only able to keep one. I caught 2 that were both at the 20 lb range. the others were about 15, and one was only about 10. We fished from 6:30 am until 5:00pm. Caught them all on herring, plug cut and one on whole herring. I tried just about everything I had in my tackle box but the herring seemed to be the only thing that worked. So I am just curious if the fishing was just as tough upstream as it was down? And the weather held out just to the end.

Very tough day on the river. Actually I fished two days. We tried everything on them and only had one fish flash at the back of the boat, short strike. 64 man hours of fishing in my boat and no fish.

Watch out --- Those 20 pounders tend to weigh in at about 13.

It was tough fishing. F4 54 boats and only 14 fish. We had one to the boat within 5 minutes of starting, then hooked and lost one (which got fouled in my buddies gear frown ) about 10 minutes after that. Then it was over.

I guess I will call my somewhat success, beginers luck as this was the first time I have fished for springers. And Thumper, I am pretty sure that those fish were close to 20 lbs. Dogfish, i can't belive that you weren't able to get a fish in that amount of time. What a bummer. Did you fish Fri. and Sat. Or Sat. and Sun?
