I am tentatively planning on signing up for the derby and going out for a day, Couple of my other friends with Boats are going along too so we can surround 'em.
The one concern I have is about how busy the launch will be there at Edmonds with the Derby going on?? I would like to put in there since that will be where I will want to take out and stun everyone with a trophy sized fish wink

Anyone have any feedback on how busy or backed up it might be?? or has been in past years?
Also, how many Silver seekers have signed up for this in the past?

Thanks for any info.

The public launch slings will open at 5:00AM on derby day - sunrise is at 6:36AM. This should allow all the early birds to be on the water before first light. With 2 slings operating, the port can move a lot of boats fairly quickly.

High tide is also 5:00AM with low slack at 11:36AM.

Anglers returning near the weigh-in cut-off time of 2:00PM can drop someone off at the gas dock to carry the fish to derby HQ while the skipper waits for the sling.

This is our first derby so huge crowds are not expected.

Fishing was good for ocean coho right in front of the marina last weekend.

I'd play, but I need a ride. I don't think the Driftboat would fit too will on the sling wink

Yes, I am a boat whore. But I can change. I guess. If I have to. wink

Well I'm not in charge of the prizes, but we expect the 1st cash prize to be around $500.

Some of the merchandise prizes that I know of are:

A guided steelhead trip for 4 from 3Rivers Marine.

SOSpenders from Boater's World.

A giant ice chest.

I saw a big pile of tackle from Silver Horde.

I know there was other stuff, but I can't remember exactly what.

I know that we are guaranteeing a prize for every youth angler 14 years and younger with a derby ticket.

Should be a good time for all participants laugh
