Go to pg 78 col d3. Find Kitsap lake or Chico Bay it flows between them. I haven't fished that Creek in over 50 years.

Thanks, I found it. I have been reading in the paper that it is suppose to be getting some chums right now. I was just formulating a "plan of attack" for fishing tomorrow.

Whew, 1300 posts! I need to slow down. laugh

Hey Easy, did you fish the green this week. If so, were there very many crowds down by the auburn golf course?

I fished at Hwy 18 on Wednesday. I have not made it down to the golf course yet this year. At Hwy 18, the same ol' story, lots of fish and fisherman not much on the hooks (legally) though.

I am really starting to get turned off with the silvers this year. I am ready for some hot chum luvin' in Hood Canal. laugh laugh

The creek itself is closed to all fishing and will be posted. Do not get caught fishing any of the "moving" water.

Additionally, the trail leading to the flats is private property. The owners are very thoughful until the trash starts to pile up and then they will posts signs stating they'll close access if corrective action is not taken.

Fishing takes place on the saltwater estuary in front of the creek similiar to Bloodsport- ooppsss... I mean Hoodsport.

I fished over by Bangor today. A fair amount of chums were splashing and jumping, none on my hook though. frown

Tomorrow, I think I will scout out the Hwy 101 side of the Canal.

What was Drew's big sin? Telling folks about some good fishing that anyone can enjoy. To my knowlwdge Chico Creek is no kind of secret. When I fished there years ago there were big crowds.

We had better get used to others coming to fish our "secret" spots. I know we all enjoy learning about places that are new to us. I suspect thats what many of us visit here for. Can't we all just get along?[Icon 7]

I do not fish it any more but grew up fishing it.I went to school up the road and used to trout fish it after school. There has always been a few people fishing the estuary ,five six people at a time. You could actually catch a few chums back then.

Drew did open the door for creation of the snag fest that it is now.I actually fished the sunday morning before his first newspaper story about dyes inlet small water. That morning there was one other fly fishermen there. That afternoon there was well over a hundred people there.I actually asked because I was so shocked.remember watchimg a guy with 15 t0 20 chums on a rope, dragging it up the creek.

I got into a debate on Davis's radio show with Drew shortly after that asking him if turning that many people loose on such a small system was a good idea.

I do not blame Drew for talking about Chico creek though. Before he let the cat out of the bag, people were not interested in chums. If he wouldn't have said something somebody else would of.There is not a chum stream with a good section of snaging water that isn't being sh@t on anymore. There is another healthy chum stream in the erea that doesn't have the snagging water and ..what..nobody fishes it!

I can't remember who it was that posted in reply to Rockfish's post but I do remember you caling Chico good fishing. That tells me alot about what you know about fishing

It was good fishing 55 years ago. People used to let you wander down that creek thru their back yards without being bothered. But just try that now.
