Talking to the Shimano Rep. @ the show with a few other guys around a point was brought up. One guy spoke of sending in a citica and upgrading it to near curado statis with the addition of a bearing. Sounds like shimano treated him right, as he recived back a NEW citica with a bearing added to the inside spool pin. This instead of the plastic piece that fits thier, also recived the original spool to boot!! Any other shimano users wanna chime in? Think total cost of the upgrade was $20.00 eek

Iv`e been told by my Shimano dealer that Shimano is offering low cost upgrade of star drag washers to overcome drag slippage. I havent taken advantage of this yet as my reels are new and in good shape and I set the drag light and add thumb pressure

Coot, thats cool. I've got 5 shimanos have had to replace drag wahers on 1 curado, thats it. Did It myself got the parts from John's in Evt. They came pre-greased ready to go in, he gave me a few tips and it was a piece of cake. Called down to Shimano in Ca. on thier toll free line got 2 storys as I talked to 2 reps. about 1/2 hr. apart. One sez ya, its a simple swap-out. Other guy sez nope, we tried that, the curado bearing is just a little too tight you got to buy a curado spool to slide into your citica!! Don't these guys work together?? Think I'll go the John's route and do it myself, he said he's got the parts in stock 2 bearings to replace 2 plastic "bushings" rolleyes rolleyes
