I would love the chance to fish the Lower Quinault. I know that it is tribe land and you must hire a guide to fish it. Does anyone know of any cheap walk-in guides? I don't really need anything but access and I am happy fishing in my waders from shore.

Another question... Can any tribe members act as guides or are they "approved" by the tribe?

Thanks

I think you can fish from the bank with any triabal member but if they charge you they have to pay some to the tribe. There's a kid named Johnathan Boyer that charges $50, I think, to take you to the bank. I heard he doesn't smoke, drink, or take drugs. I think he lives at Pacific Beach. Don't now his number. You have to be carefull with who takes you, it can be disapointing when you pay a guy and you've been fishing for a half hour and he wants to go home cause he coming down off a big drunk like Gene Underwood did to me and a couple freinds.

Walk-in guides ... walk-in guides? Sounds kind of funny but it is a good idea to get an inexpensive access. Maybe we can buy an access permit? Good question.

there isnt a lot of walk-in access on the lower quinalt. to be really effective it is much better to use a boat. permits aren't available.
