I got my Cabela's magazine today and was looking at all the stuff I need (well actually just want) and I noticed an interesting reel from Shimano. The Baitrunner.

I'm thinking about getting in to float fishing, but am pretty much a spinning reel guy. It looks like with this reel you can have the best of both worlds. You can cast light weights, but still be able to free-spool using the baitrunner feature.

Anybody have any experience with this reel? Has anybody seen it in a Seattle area shop so I can check it out? Does anybody just have some opinions on this(dumb question, you guy always have opinions)?

Here's the url to Shimano's site:

Okuma makes a reel that looks better than that. It has the same feature as that Shimano only it looks much more durable. I believe their website is this but it appears to be down at the moment. What's more important than the reel is the rod. Make sure you get at least a 10 foot rod for float fishing if not a 10.5 or 11.
