fished the clay banks yesterday (july 12) it was a -2.9 tide so i walked owens beach to the lighthouse. only fished for two hours or so cause my bait got to soft to fish. had two hits missed the first because of my noodle rod, hooked the second but it snapped my leader off (should've checked after cathing a rock cod). I saw around thirty silver swim past they just weren't hitting.

After seeing all those fish i was wondering if anybody had been around dash point or knew whether the silver's had been running by the dock yet.

I know that herring works VERY well but ya oughtta try buzz bombs. They are very effective especially the 4" wide black pearl and the 4" wide perch models. have caught lottsa salmon (kings seem to like the perch and silvers seem to like the b-pearl...) on both of those lures from the area that you were fishin. Also underneath the Narrows Bridge (Tacoma side). If you fish Pt. Evans from the beach I've had best luck w/polar bear fur coho flies or bait. They seem to prefer very small (firecracker) herring. Lottsa luck

Sincerely,
Roger
