Nice fish, your post kind of reminded me of all the fishing shows you see on tv, 10 minutes of fishing, 20 minutes of commercials, you wouldn't be selling them "Kingfisher Custom Spoons" you mentioned a dozen times would ya, wink

A little rough on the gills don't you think, if you are releasing the fish you should handle them a bit differently. Keep your hands out of the gillplates. mad

You gotta love Lake Michigan...

I grew up fishing out there. Where else can you go and catch king, silver (referred to as coho in Mich), steelhead & lake trout on the same day. It's awesome. When the rod pops off the downrigger, you never know what you're going to get.

And all they ever use are those darn spoons...occasionally a plug, but usually it's all spoons. I'm headed back that way in a couple weeks and I'm going to pick some up. I wonder if they'll work out here in the salt???

On the downside, the fish are all full of dioxins and heavy metals (lead, mercury, etc), so the Health Department publishes consumption limits. For an adult, you're only suppose to eat these fish about once a month. Kids and pregnant woment shouldn't eat them at all.
