I've noticed that when the tribal indians sell their catch they DO NOT gut out their fish. Obviously they get more $$ for the weight of the fish but is it healthy to keep the guts, etc. inside the dead cold /frozen fish and/or is there a period of time when it can create a health issue and make the fish unedible?

would not matter to me, as i would not buy a frozen tribal caught fish no matter if it was gutted or not.

i would rather spend my time out on the bank fishing for the cold critters then buy a slow frozen piece of dead flesh.

why would you even ask if it is good, everyone of us on this or any board has a chance to go and catch a fresh fish?

It is a serious hazard, but if one buys such a fish they need to learn the hard way.

Anything from the indians is suspect in my book. I used to watch them pick oysters off of beaches that were closed because they were polluted on Hood Canal and then sell them on the roadside.

Besides, any fish that isn't immediately bled and gutted within an hour of being bonked isn't worth eating. When you buy those fish you are taking a real chance.
