Been reading here for quite a while and finally registered early this morning before going fishing. Great forum.
We fished some coastal tidewater today with no luck. If anybody that fished the Cowlitz this weekend wouldn't mind giving out a report that would be much appreciated. I can take a day off work this week and want to fish a river with enough water in it and that one should have it. How long does the coho run last for that big river? Thanks for any feedback.

welcome aboard I would wait until the middle of the week for best results. they raise the water on sunday night and it really throws cow fish off for a day or two. Lots of fish have been coming in and sounds like a lot more will be coming. There should be fresh fish coming in through november but it's hard to predict. Steelhead will be coming soon too. good luck to ya.

fished there all day yesterday as a maggot. started at barrier at first light - first 3 casts, 3 fish on using straight egg clusters. large dark kings, lots of them everywhere. most everyone tossing cork and yarn having fun. saw 4 silvers caught there in the morning, slow. after a few trips through the brunch line at spiffys, we hit the creek. better action here for silvers, partner and i managed one apiece. not even close to what it was this time last year here, hopefully it will be soon. took a power nap and finished out the day back at barrier for more of the same. woke up this morning with tendinitis in my shoulder from doing battle all weekend. no sympathy from the wife though.

The ho's ranged from chrome/sealiced to fair. I didn't see any boots. A few "rosey" bucks but meat color looked okay.
