Alright, now that you looked, I need a stupid question answered please. beathead How big of a needle do you use? I've been running a piece of six pound leader through the foam and then pulling the yarn through with that. The only problem is, I can only do one at a time. Thanks for any help you can give me. :p

You need to invest in a crochet hook used for sewing. find them at your local fabric store, or moms or grandmas house. Just poke the crochet hook through the rag then take your yarn and wrap it around the hook and pull it back through. beer

They make a big needle used for yarn ... we use to always buy ours at Freddy's when we lived on that side smile

I use something I think is called a latch hook. Used for knitting repairs in sweaters. It is like a long long long sewing needle except the eye end has a latch that opens on the side of the eye. You hook the yarn in there and just pull through the rag. There's a sewing store in Lynnwood up by BandAid Music that has stainless steel ones that are about a 10" long. I cut it down to about 6" and sharpen the cut end so that I can just pass it through like a regular needle. I also use this same tool on the river to put the rag on. Put a small cork over the sharp end when not in use. When I buy these I buy several at a time so that if I have a failure I always have a backup. Tip - if you sharpen the tip with a real fine taper you can put a micro hook on the sharp end and use it to coax out deep birds-nests from your reel, not like any of us would have a reason to do that, but just saying. laugh

I use spinner wire doubled over.
Push the pointed 'loop' through rag body, but don't push the wire all the way through. insert yarn by spreading 'eye' of wire needle and then pull the 'needle' back through.

I don't like to put two pieces of yarn in anyway, because I like the colored yarn at 90 degrees to each other.
