The Blue jay is a slow flier and an easy prey for hawks and owls and will scream if it sees a predator within its territory. There is also a high-pitched jayer-jayer call that increases in speed as the bird becomes more agitated. One of the most distinctive calls of this type is often referred to as the "rusty pump" owing to its squeaky resemblance to the sound of an old hand-operated water pump. Like other corvids, blue jays may learn to mimic human speech.

I have often observed the Blue Jay imitating larger birds of prey such as the Osprey.

Piece of [censored] crows often chase off birds of prey and seagulls like to [censored] on your car. Birds of prey also like to feast on moldy chums.

Blue Jays are found back east, or in Toronto. They're like the sawed-off kid brother of the Steller's Jay, which you find around here.

They can darn sure clean out a bird feeder in a hurry. It seems as tho as soon as one shows up all of his friends come to dine as well. Pesky bass-turds.

I keep offering to give one of them a "third eye" but the wife wont let me.
