Nidal Death Penalty Trial

It appears the Ft. Hood shooter will be facing the death penalty for his actions. Though I am glad he faces this sort of justice, I can't help but think that this is exactly what he wants, because in his thinking he dies as a Martyr.

Now if the execution is to be performed by firing squad, bullets dipped in hog's blood with his knowledge would take that 'reward' away from him.

I agree.
He was paralyzed when he was finally taken down and life in prison, IMO, would be the best punishment. He would have a constant reminder of his high crime every day for the rest of his life.

His attack on his comrades was most heinous as he was a trusted associate of the victims. His weapon, an FN Five-seven, shoots a projectile designed to be a body armor penetrator. Premeditation of the highest degree.

My knee-jerk reaction to this crime is to give him the death penalty but life would be much worse in the case.

With him alive, maybe the criminal psychologists can poke/prod him and perhaps find a pattern where others like him can be intercepted before they do harm.
It does appear that signs/red flags were ignored.
