Walter Jones announced his retirement today. What an awsome player and probably one of the best ever. Boy the Hawks have changed a lot in the past few months. There is only a small handful of players from the superbowl team left on the roster.

Saw that today as well. One hell of a player and one hell of a career for sure.
HUGE man,.......saw him in person a handful of times, and WOW,......he was a big dude.

Knee injuries to the big guys have decimated the Seahawks. First it was Marcus Tubbs who had the micro fracture surgery. They said Walt had the surgery on the non-weight bearing part of his knee.
Just watched the movie The Blind Side about Michael Oher a couple of weeks ago and they talk about Walter Jones and how he protected Hasselbeck. I'm really happy the Hawks picked up Okung in the draft to succeed Walt.

I loved that clip they showed on the news last night where he runs his guy backwards 20 yards into the end-zone. What an awesome player. I loved how he would always hold out till camp was over then come in for the season and kick ass.

The greatest LT ever IMO, so good you never even knew he was on the field which is how an OL should be.

BigWalt had an amazing career. Just a freakish athlete. For a man of that size to be able to move so quickly and powerfully, he was always so fun to watch.
The best thing about him is that even though he was always regarded as a really big deal, he just came to work, did his job, and went home. No fanfair, no showboating, just basically destroying everyone who lined up against him every play.
Cheers Big Walt.
