very interesting to see who still has the selling power in the top 10. but the overall 50 is cool to see. amasing how much money these tours can generate.

Glad I'm not adding to any of their standard of living. Although I would pay that rediculous price to attend a Paul McCartney concert. Once. Never saw the Beatles live, so it would be an old time sake kind of thing.

Really, are any of these folks worth paying $100 or more to see? I've done it a couple times, and am not a likely repeat. Even buying an expensive, so called "good seat" we're easily 150 feet away from the artist, maybe more. Better view on the big screen, at which point I'm asking myself WTF I'm doing there. Then there's the audience. What a bunch of cretins. Makes it hard to appreciate the music. I guess sitting with 10,000 idiots isn't my idea of a great evening.

yea it's good to see that half the top 10 totals come from rock music. there is still a fire.

i work at a high school and find it not only sad, but very much pathetic to hear so much black/pop music coming from every source. it is strange to hear no new rock music being listened to by the yutes these days.

Word.

My kid plays Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica, and Judas Priest songs on his guitar.

It makes me happy.

I think that once kids get out of high school they some times realize how bad pop, and especially rap, are and switch to rock.

On the other hand, I some times think that there is no hope. When I was in college I worked at a restaurant where high school kids worked too. They all knew who ez-e was, but none had heard of Alice in Chains. There was also a general consensus among them that rock is angry music, or rock only has gay/sappy lyrics, whereas rap with lyrics talking about getting crunk in the club is masculine.

Rap is dying as most record sales numbers suggest, but groups like the Black eyed peas remain popular for some reason.

Sadly, country is booming. In a few years country will be the most popular music. The shift in country to sound more like rock has spurred this rise in popularity in my opinion. Country stars like Keith Urban and the other tight-jeaned queers would have been rock stars 10 years ago based upon their music sound and dress style, not country stars.

The rise in popularity of country music is further evidence of a declining IQ among Americans. Nearly all country songs can be summed up as follows:

"My woman ran off with my best friend;

and I sure do miss him;

But I still got my dog, my truck;

and my saddle;

So everything is gonna' be all right."

Well except for that country song about boobs. That one is entertaining.
