Late spring. Love this weather. 38 degrees and rain sucks.

I'd finished pressure washing my driveway/parking pad and gone into the house to start dinner. Glad I hadn't turned on all the sprinklers. Didn't need to. My new lawn is coming up nice, but damn!, there's a lotta' weeds too!

I think the soil mix, ordered by a professional and delivered by a professional, containing dirt, compost, and manure included a whole bunch of weed seeds at no extra cost. This conclusion is based on the fact that I don't have the same weed assortment anywhere except where the soil mix was spread. I'll get it under control, . . . eventually.

One treatment with Scotts Weed n feed will kill em all Salmo.

My lawn looks awesome this year after a full recondition last year...as in, way too nice for a guy who fishes as much as I do.

+1 for the Weed n Feed, Lily Miller Ultragreen works well too if you cant find the Scotts or its sold out or whatever...

better to get rid of them now before its fully established, lawns full of weeds look like crap after you kill them off, and its not always as easy as just overseeding to get it back... kill em off now, reseed in 2 weeks, keep watering, and you will have a golf course by August....

I put the weed & feed on the new lawn Friday or Saturday, and it's rained like hell since. So I expect the grass to grow half a foot and the weeds to be dead by this weekend.

BU, I think it's called "garden mix" from Great Western Supply. A couple landscaper types told me that's what they generally bring in for lawns around here. Got it in all the flower beds too. I'm gonna' wage some chemical warfare.

If you use weed killer do not put the grass clipping in your compost or use as mulch. The clippingswill kill whatever they touch.

BU, they told me in Espanol, so they must have been genuine landscapers.

Dave, thanks for the heads up regarding the clippings. I might have forgotten.
