Years ago during the OJ Simpson, my father came up with the conclusion that Furman had to be being paid off by Simpson. The planting of the glove, the racist comments, all pointed to someone who was being paid to destroy the creditability of the prosecution, while pretending to be on their side. Without him, Simpson most likely would have rotted in Jail for the rest of his life If no one noticed, Furman retired almost immediately after the Trial.

Well, looking at the way Cohen is testifying, I could easily see how the whole purpose is to make up so many lies, the truth will always look muddled. No matter what he says, true or not, there will always be people who question what ever he says. At this point, the risk if fairly low, as he can throw out a ton of new accusations (true or not), the republicans will never believe him and the left will run themselves in circles trying to prove it. It would be a brilliant move by Trump. Throw in a little true dirt, but no impeachable facts or things that can be proven and the left will go nuts. The right will just shrug it off no matter how bad it makes Trump look.

The best part about O.J. is that I really do believe he has convinced himself that he didn't do it.

In the end, the best that I have heard that came out of Cohen's testimony is that he has a check that proves Trump paid off Daniels. So lets assume it is true. The democrats will likely take the bait and try to nail Trump of a campaign violation. Then he quietly shows several checks from years ago, in which he did the same thing, before he was a candidate. He can easily claim he was trying to keep it private from his kids and Wife, just like he had done in the past. Now it is up to someone to prove it is different than other times.

Then, it if really is a campaign violation, does it meet the grounds necessary for an impeachment. And then, if the house does impeach him, would 2/3rds of the senate actually convict him and remove him from office. In the end, look how little harm it did to Clinton. I believe going that far could actually hurt the Democrats, especially if they try and fail in the house.

The Republicans will never convict Trump. Ever. The D's should probably not even try to Impeach unless they do have tape of him shooting somebody on 5th Avenue. Concentrate, instead, on controlling the Congress and Legislatures.

It's my opinion that a sitting president can be indicted.

And I'm right on pretty close to every occasion.

I only had to read the first few sentences to see that Dershowitz is wrong.

No, hush money is not illegal. Yes, Trump can donate to his campaign. No, he cannot make a campaign payment from a personal account; he had to actually donate the money to his campaign, and the campaign pays it.

Citing Dershowitz as an expert is starting to look about the same as citing Hannity or Rush, his rabid partisanship has pushed him right out of credibility.
