At least Barack Hussein Obama is a regular name in several countries, even if this isn't one of 'em...Tripp, Doilie, Footstool, and whatever else the Palin's have called their spawn aren't even regular names in any country or language...right up there with Michael Jackson's son "Blanket"...

Tripp sounds like a name from the late 60's or early 70's in San Francisco Haight-Ashbury or Berkely. Up there with Moon Unit. Kid probably named after her paternal grandmother or even after the maternal grandmother.

Don't knock FRank man,even if he did name his kid Dweezil! He was the baddest mother that ever lived.

The Palins choose some unusual names, but at least it's not as odd as the plains Indian name I heard about. Apparently the custom is for the father to name the child after the first thing he sees after the child's birth. The kid was really upset to be named Two-dogs-f*cking. In that context maybe the Palins aren't the oddest kid namers out there.

Actually Tripp is an English name that means Traveler. Just like Todd is an Old English name that means Fox Hunter. Who the hell would name their kid Todd?
