Last year was my first fishing for springers on the Columbia.Even though I got started later in the year and got skunked my first trip out, I ended up doing alright(about 30 fish) My question being when does the fishing start in a typical year? Also another question ,Do you guys plan on another flotilla on Sand Is. ?

Trust me guys....Sid and his buddy, Dave are a couple of salmon-killing machines!
They know what they're doing and are good guys as well.
Good to see you around, Sid!

Last year was my first, also, for springers and I thought I did pretty good for having 5 on and one in the boat out of 8 trips.

Sid, what part of the Columbia did you find them? And was it trolling or anchored or a combo?

I concentrated around the mouth of the Willamette Slough but I'm thinking of trying down river around Cathlamet this year.

Hey guys; I took about four guided trips & three unguided. One guided trip at Sand Isl. & three below Bonneville. The unguided trips all at Sand Isl. The key for success in my estimation was fresh sardines & GI Joe exclusive Kwikfish K-14. Dan, send me an e-mail & we'll get together to take a trip in my driftboat.

The Sand Island Flotilla was a blast. We got out of there just in time with that storm that blew in!

I went back out there and camped a couple times. That is a neat place.

I think the folks on www.ifish.net are more in tune with Springer fishing. There have been a few rumors, but no pictures yet!
