I'm heading for Brownlee Reservoir on Thursday 4-24-03. I've fished Oxbow several times, but always in June, July or August. beer

Yo Hog,

Might I suggest a bit less over-the-top treatment of any rattlers (or other snakes for that matter), short of blasting 'em? Jeez, if you can see them and take the time to draw and fire, you sure as hell can take the time to walk-away-slowly... Western rattlers are really quite docile compared to their eastern brethren. Give them space and they will leave you alone. They belong out there in the wild as much (actually more) as you do.

Just one reader's opinion.

Eddy

There are a ton of snakes over there on the powder arm so watch out. Our dogs have been bitten twice while chukar hunting.
I dont know about the fishing but watch out for the snakes, and have fun.

I fished it many times in April, powder river out of Richland. Mostly for crappie and can tell you it's hit or miss. It'll be one extreme or the other. Lots of night fishermen too. 1/8th ounce jig with a illumous grub. The Duck

I was there a week ago. We were after crappie. That was slow but did catch some nice smallies. Should be better for crappie by the time you get there. I assume you have a boat so why the worry about snakes???? Here is what you need.

Blakemore roadrunners.
4 inch Kalins grub, grey smoke with black specs or motor oil with gold specs.
1/4 oz crappie jigs, red head white tail or chartruse.

The Crappie are pretty good size this year. 10 inch avg with some 14 inchers thrown in. I will be up there next monday-tues.
