Well, my son, friends from Cincinnati, and I got out yesterday and had a wonderful day. We fished the Satsop. We found a stretch that had willing chum biters and no other fishermen. Never fear, there were plenty of fishermen both upriver and down. The weather was perfect and my son caught his first river salmon, and his 2nd, 3rd, 4th, ..... I think he hooked about 25 and landed about 15. What a great day! I've got pictures, my photographic skill is not as good as my fishing skill (and that ain't great shakes either laugh ) but I hope you can see the joy we felt.

Here's Jackson fighting a chum.

First one landed (I hadn't even got my rod strung yet!)

An estimated 20 pounder - a true monster and far too heavy to lift.

Another one!

And the best part of all - memories for a lifetime.

eddie,

These moments are precious because they can never be taken away. It truly is what it is all about.

I can hear the fathers joy coming through when he talks of the fish his son caught and never a mention of his own. I can feel the fellowship of friends coming through when it was clearly enough to spend the day together even if there had been no fish caught.

Thanks for sharing with us what I hope you will share many more times to come with your son, his son or daughter and the friends you have and the ones you have yet to meet. We all have so much to be thankful for. Thanks for giving thanks!

Your son must get his good looks from mom. Way to go on the fishing. Great day to be on the water.

Grandpa, thanks for stating the obvious wink - he certainly doesn't get his looks or his build from me. I was counting on you however to make some comment about the "Elmer Fudd" hat. Just to let you all know, it is mine - but Jackson thinks its a good hat and now it is a lucky hat!!!

I was noticing the hat! Does it have a pointed top? I assumed it was yours. Does your son have to hide on the floor of the car when you wear it in public? Actually that is a great hat for going out in the cold with your foil protective shield wrapped around your head. No one will know that you are protected from the bad karma falling from the falling sky.

LtlCleo - Yes, it was that Loomis. I'm glad that he was fishing float and jig, hooking some of those big uns someplace other than the mouth is plain hard work. As it was, there was plenty of work done!!! hello
