Look for it in Mondays paper.

I caught it on the news last night. I don't have all the details. King 5 says two guys fishing the Green lost there boat in a log jam. One guy was stuck on a log jam and the other got to shore to go for help. Took him four hours of walking to get help. A rescue helicopter and swimmers were sent to get him off the jam.

These guys were very lucky!!!!!

Use your head out there, we don't need anymore river deaths.

Floted the Green today. Here is a pic of the guys raft. STAY RIGHT AT THE SPLIT or this may happen to you.

There was also a log down all the way across the river below the splits. We were able to drag the boat over.

FD,

that is the drift from whitney bridge down to highway 18. The trouble spot is the same spot as the last two years. It is just below O' grady's which isnt far below metzler park. stay right, dragging is better than swimming.

shoemakers got it right. The river comes down and splits in to three channels. The right one is the smallest and least inviting from the top, but is the only way down.

When the water drops it is a real pain to drag the boat through. A week ago at ~1100 cfs the right channel was almost dried up in one spot. About a 15ft drag across basically damp rock, a real workout frown .

i pontooned the green today and there is a sweeper just below the jam. i'm not sure how long it has been there, but the conditions today made it not passable. i'm not one for the boat teeter totter on the log so we carried our pontoons through the beaver trail. i did notice that on the far side there was a slot cut through, but it is about 4 ft wide and very hard to get to the other side.

There appears to be some confusion among the bankies about where on the Green you can fish from a boat.

The last two trips I've had guys none to politely suggest I was fishing illegally from my boat. I suggest people read thier regs before flapping their gums.

Specifically the part describing the rules on the Green from Auburn-Black Diamond Rd to the Tacoma Headworks Dam where there is no restriction on fishing from a floating device.

yeah,
the bank mags think they own the river. They always tell you about the regs. The confusion is with the the bridge. The auburn-black diamond bridge is the one about a hundred feet up from Highway 18. Not the one on the valley road or whitney bridge. I hate that.

Bman how was the fishing?
