Daybreak in Cabo


Took some friends down for their first trip to cabo. Besides eating our way thru cabo we managed a couple of days fishing. The first day was almost a bust as the marlin had moved from the area they had been found the day before and we only managed 1 Bonito. The second day out turned out to be a little different. We had only been trolling about an hour when we had our first marlin in the spread. He smacked the trailing lure a couple of times but refused the live caballito dropped back and then he vanished. Back to trolling for about another hour before we had our second marlin in the spread. Again this fish gave a couple of lures a pretty good smack and refused the live bait. The skipper than announced that we would go to trolling live bait and the results were immediate. Within minutes of getting the first bait out and before the mate could get the other one out the third marlin of the day appeared and grabbed the first bait and the fight was on!

I can still hear my buddy saying PEASE STOP, PLEASE STOP after the fish took off on its second run of a couple hundred yards

Ah yes, The Office. Nice place. Just up the beach from where I stayed. Too bad I didn't find out about "The Office" until my last day!
