We had a great day today at Edmonds. Fished a cut plug herring at 50 feet in 600 feet of water off the oil docks. Two of us brought seven fish to the boat . Two were over 14 lbs. All were nice fish. We launched at 9:00 and were having lunch at Anthonys by 12:30
I just doesn't get much better.

There is a sling at the Port of Edmonds. Usually looong lines.

They charge me $22 to launch my 24' boat off a roller trailer (and another $5 to park for the day). I know the launch fee varies some, based on size of boat and type of trailer (bunk trailers are more expensive.
Sure it nice to be fishing 5 minutes after launch...

Info on launching at Edmonds can be found at http://www.portofedmonds.com I saw somebody launch at the sling at 6 am on Wednesday, but the website currently says "Winter hours are: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. 7 days a week". The costs are: Round Trip $22.00 One Way $15.00 Bunk Trailers: Round Trip $30.00 One Way $20.00 Parking for trucks and trailers is $5 a day. Depending on where you are going, you can save money on fuel by launching close to your fishing spot and save the danger of running through wind and chop but it's still pricey as far as I'm concerned.

What a rip off! Edmonds sucks. Better off launching at Shilshole and running up(unless you're in a 12' boat).

Aaron...the run to Edmonds is 15 to 20 minutes from Shilshoe at 18-20 mph on flat water. If it gets rough I just hug the shoreline coming back which helps a little. I've had good luck this year fishing right out of Shilshoe, but will make the run north if I need to.

Weather tomorrow is looking good....winds under 5mph slowing to 1-3mph. I'm launching at Alki then working my way north as necessary.
