Perhaps it's my "ig-nerce", but as I recall, there has been some great posts regarding sockeye most recently. Use the search feature of this wonderful website to access the information.

not trying to start crap but really folks if you can write this much how hard is it to write the same amount and instead state what you know is pertinent to the guys question? instead of tongue in cheek mocking him? seems childish to me especially concidering this is a 5000+ boat fishery nothing secret about it. everyone knows there is a search feature, however its nice to jump in and get responses to your questions as well. if I only wanted awnsers, I can tell you I would not waste my time with most of you tight lipped freaks, google and a phone book works way better for me. just my .43 cents

t rex, after my tissy fit, I would also suggest what was mentioned above for gear, I think i have also heard black hooks? but not sure I am not an expert on the sockeye, to many people for me, safeway is closer.

mindfusion, the simple answer is that the more new traffic there is on this site, the more the existing hardware is taxed. I don't know if Bob uses outside storage or has his own server (I think it's the former), but eventually archives get big enough to require more storage and more $$ to accomplish it.

It just saves time and resources to use the search feature.

skywalker, your point makes sense, however in the ever changing world that is our hobby, I think that new ideas and threads are part of what make this a valuable resource. try searching the archives and look at how many things are no longer pertinent, either due to changed regulations or new improved methods etcetra. I feel that in the event it is a matter of server space, then archives which are 3-5 years old should be deleted unless they are somehow extremely worthy of staying. beginning fishermen, or people just trying to learn something new can benefit greatly from our combined knowledge. I know that I have posted questions where there was info in the archives, such as my trip to Neah bay. I did search the archives and then I asked my questions, in the end I got a lot of information that was current and pertinent to my particular situation. in this particular thread the awnser that the author was looking for was given in three or four words, where as it has taken hundreds to tell him to go hidei n the archives and then discuss the pros and cons of archive searching.

Well I sure as hell didn't mean to start no fight.

But it serves me right for asking.

I should learn-- you gotta be a big boy to play with the big boys. So I guess I'll go back to lurking on this board. Mayhaps someday somebody will say something interesting, and I can get involved.

There were posts 2 or 3 weeks ago about sockeye fishing, lots of good how-to stuff. Maybe they just don't want to repeat themselves so soon. A search would take all of a minute.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I did the search on this site and several others. There was lots of past posts on the subject. I came back with a few individual questions and was welcomed with much more advice. Each person seemed to have a little different twist, so I'll print the whole thread and change what I'm doing as needed. Just check the search feature, there's much good advice to be found and I plan on posting my pics of sockeye soon. As soon as it opens!
