When is the best time to go on a charter boat out of Westport for Kings and Silvers? Thanks guys!!

Better wait til after April 8 to answer that one.

August...boy we sure took advantage of that 2 King a day limit last year. If you hire a big "cattle boat" dont expect to hook into lots of good fish... Try to find a 4 person outfit. You will pay a bit more but they'll have you trolling and using specialized gear and tackle...you'll have a better overall chance at good kings and you'll learn alot more.

Thanks to several factors out of our control the ocean fishing seasons may be cut back, It looks like the options on the table show a big cut back from last year King fishing. I would get out there in early July this year. Fishing is usually good into September but don't wait for that time of year as it will be closed. There are lots of good boats in Westport. Try the Slammer.

If you're interested in a Charterboat party experience I highly recommend booking with Capt. Geoff Grillo of Advantage Charters. I have always limited out on both kings or silvers. Book mid to late July and you'll go home with your limit. that timeframe both Kings and decent sized coho should be available. One day it might be more kings, the next day might be more coho action. U wont know until the first line hits the water ! Have fun out there!
