Having not been there (the one on the Peninsula) before, wanted to know if anybody has sense of current conditions and stretches that would be particularly fly fishing friendly?

w/the water this low, the upper drift could be nasty. the big stump and the rock garden at the end.

Need's some water to be worth your while...look at a guided trip on the lower Quinaualt...big fish in the river and few fishermen=fly-fishing + huge steelhead...IMHO

Thanks for the suggestion. Definitely not a whole lot of water to work with anywhere. Any Quinault guides to recommend?

I'd try Letty Potter or Levi Sandstrom if you have real dates in mind shoot me a e-mail or p.m. and I'll hook you up, I have fished with bolth of them them. And they are are top rate guides in my book, don't know about the fly-fishing only. As they free-drift.. useing cured eggs as bait.....C/22

The lower Queets has been good to me as well as the lower Quinault in late feb-march. You may want to hook-up with Clay Butler...??

Upon Letty's suggestion (she doesn't fish the Queets), I called Clay and he's booked for the season--definitely a sign of success. Will keep digging around. Supposedly the Queets is coming into shape after the rain earlier this week.
