Last night found me starting out the 2005 season a a good note!!

A regular guest from Anchorage brought his daughter and a bunch of gals from Cali down for a Kasilof float trip.

We, of course, started out with the "nice" new launch ramp (I'm not sure this will make things run smoother, we'll see!):

A few tried & true as well as a couple of new kwikie colors wrapped and ready to be chomped!!

Would the gals have the lady luck and start us off for the year? Of course!!

Carrying an "extra fin", so today, this one goes back!

Doug tries to score for the fellas ... he hams it up for the camera while the gals waych the fish motor around well downstream!

This one too was carrying an extra fin, so a quick pic and away she goes!!

Melissa pops our first clipped fish of the year, springer, AK style, yummy!!

And "E-power" (use your imagination fellas, women have ... ?) takes over with these two keepers hiting the deck within a couple of minutes of one another.

All in all, pretty good fishing for quite early in the run ... we boated 8 kings, had hold of 5-6 more ... a good start to the year on May 20.

Let's hope it just keeps building as it should!!

Nice fish Bob! Looks like the ladies whooped the guys tails that trip...

That is the BIGGEST drift boat I've ever seen a pic of....just what are the dimensions of that barge? Do you ROW that thing? (The "bow down - I'm not worthy" gremlin goes here!)

ISO if that's the same boat I fished out of with Bob and Robbo several years ago, it is the world's biggest drift boat.....I don't wanna say it's an ark but when we launched an old man called Noah was loading the critters on board....two chickens, two cows, two pigs, two hamsters.....dunno about the hamsters.......

you should see the plasma screen and full wet bar in the lower deck lounge..

21 feet x 72 inches ISO \:\)

6 people including myself in the boat for the first trip of the year. I got broke in but good with a howling downstream wind ... glad I had a couple of days off on the back side of the first trip to let the body get used to it again.

Gave me time to chop down a few trees today ... finally got line of sight for our dish to catch the 9th inning of the M's game \:\)

Pat ... Water is about 4 feet lower than your trip ... we sat about 75 yards below that rock on the tide. It'll be up there soon enough!!

I'll try Mingo's flies anytime!!!!!!!!!!!! Send me about a dozen of them for this fall's vacation ... that should keep me busy!

Wish I had the big plasma TV ... if weight wasn't a factor, I'd have all those goodies, certainly have the room for them \:\)

Did bring up both the XM and Sirius radio systems to try through. XM gets terible reception, which is a major bummer because it gets all M's games. I just hooked up the Sirius in the Durango last night, we'll see how it works out this far north.

Maybe a mini plasma with a tracking dish that they have on big boats, hmmmm???? \:D

If I put a titanium bow on it. maybe I'll plow a new path through a few runs in the 'Duc for us Larry so I can bring this monster back and not be limited with it \:\) I could rename it Boulder Buster!!

Only do the bug rod thing once in a while for the kingers Mingo ... too much fish for most to handle on those things.

Once in a while we actually use the bug rods as intended ... and have some success on those guys!

I'm game, Bob! I'm all over that! \:D

As for the rest of the clients? Anchor them up someplace and let them drown some bait. They will amuse themselves watching the Artic Char chew on their yummy offerings.

The only "flaw" in this plan is if Windy Bill hooks is *own* fish and you guys end up pulling anchor and taking chase. I guess I'll have to fight off the bears and walk back - it's either that or start swimming with the dead porcupines!

I'm already looking forward to July....

No dead porcupines yet \:\) How 'bout a nice dead moose though? I'll get a pic tonight when I go out ;\) If it takes you too long to get back, you have plenty of protein to survive on ... meat sooooooo tender it will fall off the bone

I think one of those 40-50's would like to kill a man if we bounced one up on that silver tackle!

I've had people hook a couple in the near 40 range while fishing silvers and usually after they have about 200 yards out, they shrug their shoulders and hand me the rod to pop them off \:\) If fishing looks primo, maybe I'll throw one in for ya ... no drag on them, we'll see how many fingers you have left!!
