I like to treat myself to a King Salmon filet every now and then, but have you seen the prices lately at the local grocery stores? Ive seen up to $15.00 a pound. I just cant justify paying that kind of money. Does anyone out there know of any places to find a better price in the Seattle/Eastside area? Thanks in advance.

Probably in Seattle at Fishermans Wharf but I hate supporting commercial/tribal netting.

at 15 a pound it would pay to get a guide and catch your own

I havent purchased any type of fish except a restaurant for as long as I can remember. So I dont look. But figure the cost of gas to get that fish to market its still cheaper than what I pay when I figure in all my expenses, Boat , gear , gas. But at least I know where mine came thru. I figure if I keep my boat another 5 years my price per pound for fish will be around $100 bucks.

Here is how you buy chinook at a discount price: buy some sardines at the bait shop, along with some quickies, combine ingredients, and throw into the river. Actually, this will end up costing you countless hours enjoyment, and a lot more money than you would spend on fish at the market, but it's a good time \:D
