Awhile back, Vhawk29 posted a question about more reliable (dry) fishing/wading jackets. Somewhere in the thread Rivers West was mentioned so I went to their website and.......I like what I see.

http://www.riverswest.com/hifi.html

Seeking some opinions here, Pro's? Cons? Personal experience?

Thanks.

I personally use their first generation stuff and is very water proof, however is not as supple as I would like it to be and does not breath. Have felt the newer stuff they have out and seems to be alot better feel, but have not needed to buy new gear, and have so far lasted 3yrs.

Think I saw them retailed @ G.I. Joes and Outdoor Emporium.

I received a catalogue from them just last week. They also sent a fabric sample with it. The material feels very soft but it is nearly impossible to rip or puncture. I haven't purchased anything yet but it does look impressive.

I've tried it on and it claims to be the best...I like the noon-suppleness of it as it seems like i'm getting something that will last -vs- the flimsy $100 Gortex/breathable wear that seeems to seep after awhile. I plan on getting the ranger jacket and pants over the winter for later next years deer and elk killn!

Eric, I know two guys who bought locally in town here, both had a little proplem, one guy took the jacket back for exchange no problem, at the Dennis Co. and the other guy delt directly with rivers west he also got a new coat no problem. I personly have a full set now. bought the pants first, and wore during deer hunting season, they worked so good that i bought the coat also. they make differnt coats i went to G I Joe's for the coat. shop around

What's the price range of the RW jackets and pants? Just curious - have heard a lot of good things about them, but have no idea how much $$ we're talking about.

Womperman,

Was it the Dennis Co. in S. Aberdeen that carried the jacket?

I also wanted to mention it was the wading jacket I was interested in....not the "steelheader" which is a longer version coming down below the waste.

What problem did your friends have? (so I know what to look for)

Thanks.

Womperman,

Thanks for the offer to view but right now yours truly is down with the flu so I won't be making any public appearances for a bit. \:o

I will get over to Dennis Co. and check it out when I'm alive again.
