Mike, thanks, but I am looking for something lighter. I paid about 115.00 for the kit from Cabelas, then built the rod out myself, as I am an amateur rod builder. I live in the Midwest, and the rod is just a bit heavy for some of the light leaders we fish with.

You might want to check that price again. Cabelas has that same rod for only 80 bucks and you get the warrenty too.

Sheesh! Thanks for the headsup. While not the same rod (Cabela's phased out their longer rods in the FEII a while ago and the blanks are different- possibly now foreign made blanks?), can't argue with the reality.
Did you notice they charge more for the rod building kits than the factory rod?

When I think of it, I built that rod out in '96. It probably has about 6 hours of fishing time on it, total.
