Wham, hit like a freighttrain....Made one run and then...came a bobbin to the surface
floatin around with all the powerbait, cigarette buts and beer cans on the lake.....
And what's that smell......It's a slimy, stinkin TENCH.....Garbage Fish.

Fish#2 The Smelly Garbage Can Award.
This one goes to All of F&G for inviting about a million or so(?) seems like a gazillion,
shall we say "sometimes forgetful" fishermen to our lakes and streams without
feeling any responsibility for providing garbage facilities at any boatlaunches or access
areas. Nor any reminder "NO LITTERING" signs. Nor any Litter Enforcement. Nor a
Single Summer College Student Ecology Crew to clean up the messes.
Enjoy the smelly can guys. Take a deep breath. Let the Visual Scene pervade your senses.

Hey fishermen, this Award DOES NOT alleviate you from packing out ALL of your garbage.
That means lure wrappers, tangles of monofiliment, styrofoam bait containers and yes,
even cigarette butts.
And I want to take this opportunity to thank you Tidy Beer and Pop drinkers who
neatly put your 6 pack of cans or bottles back in the container and leave them for me to pick up.
Makes my trips so much easier.
:p

Here's an idea, buy a couple of garbage cans from Bershaugher's (I think that is how you spell it) Ace Hardware in Ephrata, or if there is one closer to you, and put them at all the lake sites that you are experiencing all of the garbage and see if it does not help. A garbage can cost less than 10 bucks and you can write it off/feel good about it because you are Adopting A Lake.

I know when I come back after a long day of fishing with a boat load of wrappers, cans, and such that is the first thing I look for is a garbage can. smile

Good thoughts Carl but it's already been tried up the Aenias Valley. Buncha guys and I got one and put it at Round Lake. One of the lakes I've adopted. It lasted 2 weeks they tell me
and someone stole it.
What's needed is one of those concrete bunker style boxes where you can lock the can inside and it's anchored and too heavy for fools to pack off. I'll let F&G spring for the Bucks to put em in right where they'll last.
