No, this isn't about some magical plant that grows fish. Just checked the WDFW website and they have the plant plan for all lakes for this year posted. fish plant plan Anybody else use these plants to figure out where to get those triploids? Not a bad plan if you want to get your kids hooked on catching some reasonably big fish. Check it out. Andy

There are two parts to this. One is the fish plant plan, the other is the catchable trout weekly report. Put the two together and you are usually rewarded with some fish.
Sorry for your unsuccesful outing. I am headed out with the boys (ages 2 and 5) tonight to hit a little zipperlake that just got it's plants. Pictures tonight!

Dogfish, I have used the "plant list" in my early days. It is a great tool for the adventurer/angler types. I am suprised to see my lake getting Eastern Brooks! Easy Limits, Wondering if you are directly/indirectly impacted by this: Fish Plants I see that the lakes I hit early are receiving less of a plant than previous years. Doubt that the article effects- more likely budget cuts. Downriggin'

Here are my boys with their limit of fish! ( 1 each ) This why they invented powerbait. Take your kids fishing, it will make everybody happy.

Easy Limits,
Maybe the plant was planned for 4000 and didn't happen(???) I dunno? I usually check my lake by throwing a few pebbles in at the launch and watching the water. I can tell in seconds if it happened.
Dogfish,
Appears the kids had a great time. Kinda wish my son was their age again. Once he hit 15, it was off to chasing other things. Glad I have a daughter that enjoys going with the ol' man..

Hunter is 5, Ryan is 2. One fish is their limit when we do a boys only trip. When dad gets to fish, we get a few more, but we have no need for 15 fish, so we stop early.
This was at a local year 'round kids only fishing lake. Saw many LARGE fish over 2 pounds cruising the shallows. Luck of the draw.
Ryan, little guy, only fell in the water once. He is getting better.

Easy Limits:
I was out at Angle on 3/24. It was recently planted with pocket limits. Saw some caught off the dock and marked many fish about 75 yards off the launch at a depth of 20-25'. I have one on, one hit. Water temp. was 42.

Hmmmmm....I may have just missed them then. I remember a guy saying, on Saturday, on the dock, that the fish were down deep. That makes sense considering I was marking the water temp at 46. A little to chilly for fish on the surface I think. Oh well!

Hey Dogfish!
Terry Rudnick at WDFW is looking for some pics at WDFW of some young lads w/their catch. You should send them this pic. It's great!

5000D,
Do you have a number or e-mail address? If so, send me a private message with the info. Click on the third icon above my post where the two figures are shaking hands. The rest is easy.

stocked trout very rarely go deeper than 7 or 8 feet the first 3 to 4 weeks there in new water. so far as of today, 4-7-02 none of the lakes in snohomish county the wdfw site says have been stocked over the last 3 weeks have had any fish put in them. i called to see what was going on but no one could answer my questions for this area. if anyone knows whats going on tell the rest of us please.

AB. When I got my license this year I got it at Mill Creek at the Dept of F&W. I got a flyer from them that says the Gissburg Ponds have been planted. Once on the 1st of March and 1st of April. Went by there yesterday just to check it out and there were fish rising all over the place.. This was on the south pond as they were having boat races on the other one. I see people with fish,so they must be there. Also they're supposed to put some triploids in there in April. Jim S. P/S I just got a revised copy(map) of the Washington Atlas & Gazetteer and I was looking at the lakes section and it says that there are Walleye in the ponds. Has anyone seen any?

It's got to be a misprint because my map with the 1998 date on it says the same. I'll tell you one thing though. That lake or should I say ponds doesn't have much growth in them. Because I sat out from shore about 25 ft and I could see the bottom and it was sandy. The water was clear. Jim
