The wife and I are going to Banks Lake for a week the first part of July. I was wondering if I should take my crawfish traps? If so how deep would you put it and what would you use for bait? I'm going to stay in Coulee City and I will have my boat. I know to talk to Gordon at Big Wally's the first thing. What is a good Walleye Batter to take along? Thanks in advance.

I looked up Banks Lake on Washingtonlakes.com....They said that it has some rocky shoreline, So I am guessing that the crawdads have to be plentiful in those areas...As for bait, just use what you normally use or catch local fish in the area and use them for bait as they are on the Banks Lake Crawdads normal diet....

Thanks I'll try the cat food till I catch some rough fish to use.
You are right about rocky areas but how deep do you think I should make my first set?

I trap Crawdads at around 10 to 25 feet.
You can set them shallower if you want,Crawdads will travel to the bait.I use canned catfood, put the bait in a old nylon and tie it to the trap, one can will work all night.

What kind of canned catfood do you use? Not like brand but like the seafood ones or the liver ones or the meat? Everytime I try catfood I never get anything...I never even get a single crawdad in the traps but I usually get them with real fish...

Thank you so much YellowBear. When I was a kid we caught them on bacon wrine and a string. It would take several hours to ge enough to feed just one person. But when we were kids what else did we need to do.
