Try Whatcom Creek in Bellingham. It is a long drive (2hrs) but worth it. Still lots of chums to be had.

SWEET!! Thanks Easy! Someday I'll get my handle on this salmon stuff... A lot tougher to learn then them kokes were.

I've been trying the green under hwy. 18 bridge, wasnt producin for me and finally gave up before i resorted to snagging or somethin else just as bad. Tons of fish, just lack of a skilled fisherman!!!

If your going to drive all the way up here. Might as well go to the Nooksack, try around the Welcome store area. Average 1 per cast, its a lot of fun. fishy

Carl, where were you on Whatcom Creek and what were you using? Nooksak sounds like an idea as well.

We were between the mouth and the hatchery in downtown Bellingham. That is not saying much though. From the hatchery to the bay (mouth) is about 500 ft. We used the usual stuff you would use for chums in Hood Canal.

Although it was a little slower today, I hooked and released 8 in 3 hours. I hiked about a 1/4 mile down river and found 2 nice runs. Did better in the faster water. I was using a orange or red corky with matching yarn and a small #4 bait hook, that way if I foul hooked them it did no harm. Was a lot of fun. Sorry I missed you Easy.
