I have not fished those areas myself. I have not heard anything real promising either. You may want to mention to dad to bring the boat down to Elliott Bay / West Pt. Lots of blackmouth action there. thumbs

thanks easy! never fished that far south, but its not much further of a boat ride down there from Area 9. It might be worth a try.

Any pointers?

Or you can launch at Shilshoe or W. Seattle.

Pointers:

1. White/glow Hot Spots and white/glow hoochies

2. Troll fast, 2-3 MPH

3. The whole area is pretty shallow, stay in at least 70' of water.

4. Start fishing at the Magnolia marina and head west to West Point.

I think the first time we ever went out in the salt Mike recommended Shilshole as a launch for us, but we have a 19' boat w/ a Bunk trailer and I dont think they launch bunks anymore cuase they use the hoistes. Not sure though.

Also as for hootchy selection my summer job up in alaska sent me back with few tricks up my sleeve smile

Lookout salmon! heh

Matt,
Shilshole is a ramp (a good at that). The sling is up in Edmonds. I posted a fair Baby Island report today. Nice to see you posting. smile

I have fished area 9 three times since it opened four of us got our limit every time we used a green hotspot flasher and 18 - 24 inches of leader with a coyote spoon I like the green and glow my fishing buddy switches to a couple different colors all with some kind of green. We troll in about 90 - 120 feet of water and you want to be right on the bottom, if your downrigger ball doesn't bounce every once in awhile you aren't deep enough. We have fished both side of possesion and other people I have heard have done well at admiralty inlet.
