I am bringing my bass boat home from eastern washington, I am planning to go bass fishing this saturday the 27th of march. Which lakes in western washington would be my best bet for catching some bass. I know its still pretty cold but can someone help me figure out which lake is more of a sureshot and what techniques are working. I was thinking of either fishing Sammanish, Lake Washington or lake goodwin.

I'm no expert, but I'd say Goodwin. Probably because you can sight fish, & a bit warmer.

Just talked to guide Curtis Welch of Special Moments Guide Service yesterday. He said fishing should turn on in both Sammamish and Washington in early April.

He recommends using jigs or deep diving crankbaits 20 to 30 feet deep. Hope that helps.

For what it's worth - I was finding them in 4 to 10 feet of water in the Eastern Washington Lake I fished a couple of days ago. I caught a half dozen bass slowly retrieving jigs.

Silver Lake in cowlitz co. There are some big bass in it like 13lbs. I was out in the wdfw shocking boat a couple years ago and we got 4 bass over 13lbs and crappie over 2 lbs .I lived on the lake for 17 years and the neighbor boy across the street got a 13.4 lbs bass by my scale but didn't waight at a state scale. beathead

Sammamish can be good, but you'll fight a thousand jet skiers and water skiers at the launch.

I like Goodwin, a little shallower, lots of docks.

Never done Silver Lake, I'd like to, big fish there.
