im not much of a bass fisherman...haha, but i do watch alot of bass fishing on tv so i know the techniques, i got a pond i can fish which is maybe 2 acres, probably 3 feet deep, but has about a foot of water between the weeds, which cover the whole pond, anybody got any got any techniques for this? in the summer time we use top water lures, but i would figure the fish would be lathargic and not want to chase one down, so maybe a weedless worm? what do ya think?

try useing a senko worm on a wide gap hook most times you won't feel the bite so watch the line they usealy bite while the worm is still fallining. if your in the weeds you might want some type of braided line like fireline for example so your not breaking off or step up the lbs of test

I'm not a huge basser either...I know some stuff that get me fish.
If its shallow and has a lot of weeds: Try a small spinnerbait...You can fish that in shallow water and the hook won't get snagged up on the lily pads or whatever you have in the pond.
You could also try Zoom Lizards rigged Texas style or any other sort of soft plastics (worms/grubs/senkos..etc.)

The first fish ive ever fished for was bass before i was introduced to salmon and steelhead but any way i think fishing a pond with weeds across the entire top is the hardest when fishing for bass, I got a similiar pond in my back yard and when the weeds are over the whole top i love using a something very heavy like a nosecone sinker with a natural colored weedless worm to get it below the layer of weeds. But if there are no weeds or very few top water lures are my most favorite out of all bass lures especially buzzbaits.

queets guy, i am familiar with the technique u described, and how to fish it, but i am confused on how to rig the worm weedless, i know what it looks like, but i just don't know how to navigate the hook through the worm correctly

anyways thanks for the replies guys im going to give it a shot tomorrow hopefully, i will try some worms and maybe i'll walk the dog a little bit on the top peace

If your looking to catch fish this time of year I would go with a jig and pig. Your going to need to get down to where the fish are. When the water warms try a 1/4oz white spinerbait just ticking the weeds.

Rigging a weedless worm. Take the hook in hand and with the hook point parallel to the worm bury the hookpoint in the center of the wormhead (should look something like a U) go as deep as 1/4" or just past the barb. Slide the worm up the shaft of the hook just covering the eye of the hook. Then turn the hook 180 degrees (should now look like a P somewhat) Now pinch the worm at the bend of the hook this is where you stick the hook point thru, straighten worm out. You can then bury the hook point into the worm very lightly, kind of flush.

or check this out worm rigging

Is the deepest part of the whole pond 3ft? If so how does that thing not freeze up for the winter? Here is another link that may help you with different rigs. http://washingtonlakes.com/ReadArticle.aspx?id=201
For the most part any soft plastics with a slow presentation would be the best approach.
