I was thinking of getting a set of planer boards. Any suggestions? I have never used them before.

I have used the cheep little one made by Lure Jenson. It was hard to get it to release. Did catch a fish on it but more trouble than it was worth.

I would check out Cabelas and see what they have. Also, a couple years back I fished on lake Roosevelt with a guide that used outriggers. They were pretty cool and would get your gear out there as well. Do a WL.com search for the Roosevelt article, I think there may even be a picture.

Thanx Mike. I almost went with set out of cabelas. I think I'm going to try a sidewinder. They dont have releases and a bunch of hardware on them. The line is the release. Once you pop it the board stays in line with the fish so you dont have to fight the board. Kind of like a pink lady deep diver releases. You can check them out with a google search or at AXfishing.com. Maybe you have seen it advertised.
