I have an older (4 years) Alpine compound bow that I have upgraded significantly. One of my most recent upgrades is the Muzzy Zero Effect drop away arrow rest. I had the archery shop put it on for me and am wondering whether it is correct. When the bow is at full draw with an arrow nocked in my string loop, the arrow is slanted down (towards the lower limb) and is not perpendicular with the bow and cable guard. I understand that the arrow is supposed to be nocked slightly higher than is perpendicular for proper arrow flight, but I think the arrow sits far too slanted down. I can see my arrow's tail kick around a bit at 20 and at 30 yards. I am not sure I am getting as true of flight as I am capable. I know the arrow flexes and swims as it exits the bow, but I feel the arrows should be recovering at a faster rate than they are. I am shooting at 222 FPS with a 67# bow using Easton aluminum 2413, XX75, 30 inch arrows with 125 grain field points. This is the correct arrow according to specs. I have 4 inch helical fletchings. Does anyone in the know think that my Muzzy Drop away arrow rest could be installed too low with respect to the arrow nock, causing it to slant too far down?? My patterns are tight and accurate at 20 yards, and they are OK at 30 yards, however, in order to get my bow to shoot accurately at thirty yards, the windage is adjusted significantly different than it is at 20 yards. This is perplexing me. Shouldn't the windage on my sights be the same at 20 and 30 yards only needing the sights set for higher trajectory at further distances?? I mean, if the arrow is shooting straight, then it should have the same windage adjustment at 20 yards as it is at 30 yards, right? The reason I believe my bow is shooting left at 30 yards and accurately at 20 yards must be because my bow is shooting left and this difference can be seen at a further distance (hence 30 yards and not 20). Could my bow be shooting left because of the improper flight of the arrow caused by the tilt of my Muzzy rest? Any suggestions would be helpful. I am concerned that even though my patterns are plenty accurate at 30 yards for hunting, I may not be getting good enough flight for maximum penetration. Thanks in advance, Brass

Paper tune it!

Check with a pro shop .

The bowhunting forum at www.huntingnet.com has all kinds of info. I saw several posts on the Muzzy Zero Effect. Tons of nationwide archers. Check it out.

If it will shoot bullet holes through paper at 12 feet then you are ok. Go to a bow shop to do this please. Maybe a different one then the one you got the rest put on at.
