I was thinking of giving spring turkey a shot this year. I haven't been in long time and I want to see whats changed.

i would also like to know this.

also what all is needed. ive never hunted them before.

deerslayer, You need a good shot gun that will hold a tight tight patern out to 50 yards. 3" or 3 1/2" copper plated turkey loads. Good camo and mask. Calls and how to use them. Patience. Turkeys.

I would go to one of the many calling seminars that are being put on at GI Joes and The Duffle Bag and Sportsmans Wharehouse. I would also go to a banquet and try to meet some people that hunt them and pick their brains. You can waste a lot of time trying to do it the wrong way, trust me we all started there. I learned to hunt them in PA and used to guide in NE WA. It really is a fun hunt.
