Headed out with a relative who is in special forces at Ft. Lewis to take in the family day events at the range (ex ranger, and yes, a "real operator"). I pulled my oldest boy out of school so that he could get a little trigger time as well. Weapons fired today included the following:

M4 simunitions (paintball gun with no rear sight, so no pics)
M9

MP5 and MP5SD. The SD was pretty darned quiet, but a little smokey.

M203 grenade launcher with paint

(Hunter was a better shot with the M203)

M4

M240

M249 SAW

Nothing is better than father and son, side by side, with SAW's.

(Can't get the last two vids to rwork for some reason.)

Kick ass day. Thanks Master Sgt!

What a great experience for you guys. I miss days at the range at Fort Lewis (well at least when it wasnt raining). I miss the toys sometimes. To bad they did not have a mounted M2 Browning .50 for you guys to rock an roll with. Another fun one is the M209 fully automatic grenade launcher but looks like you were on one of the small arms ranges.

Sweeeeeeeeet ! ! ! That is one of the big (and maybe only) things I miss from my time in. The SAW is a sweet little mg, I put many thousands of rounds through mine. Was kick ass when they finally let us carry them doing livefire building clearing. That will clear a room in a hurry.
Looks like you boys had a blast.

Hey DogFish, who is your family member/Master Sgt? I may have known him.

Too damn cool Dad thumbs

It looks like he is shooting the sidearm left-handed, but the longarms right-handed? I ask only because my Dad had me screwed up learning to shoot left handed cause I am, but after years of not hitting the broadside of a barn I discovered I was right-eye dominant.......still can't hit the broadside of the barn either, but I'm getting closer grin

He's pretty much ambidextrous, shooting, throwing, writing, with both left and right. He switches it up from time to time. Great with a rifle either side, but he is better with a pistol in his left hand.

Sounds like Hunter would make a great point guard if he can use both hands!

What a great thing to provide and share as a dad! That lucky kid for sure.
