My son was able to bag his first deer this year (using a CVA M/L). This is his 3rd season and he was quite excited when he saw it go down. He made a great shot from about 45 yards out. It is not the largest deer but as he says it sure is tasty!

thats about as good as it gets. the first deer is always the most memerable. i still remember mine. and it took me 3 seasons to get also.

Fisherdan - you are right about Andy. He took us into his "honey hole" and was able to get Brandon on a deer....missed. Was good to see Andy get his deer that night, wish him well on his elk hunt. I still have to make up for my botched attempt. Good thing I still have a permit for December in Moses Coulee.

I ended up staying on this side of the mountains and headed up to the peninsula to get outfished by another friend. Maybe later I'll head over for elk, after they get the rockslide fixed.

I'm always glad to help a young hunter out.
