well last year was my first time fishing the summer runs in wa. drifted the hoh from oxbow a couple of times with nary a bump. going to watch the m's and o's in safeco field the 30th and the 31st. as luck would have it i have 3or 4 days to waste in the area before that. i would really like to hook up with something over there be it steelhead or salmon. was thinking about the drift from sultan to ben howard since recent posts said it was realitively easy, also how is the ride from the high bridge dow to sultan? i've been rowing about a year and feel pretty comfortable. if anyone could just put me to an area (river) that would have some fish i would greatly appreciate it. and if ya ever want to fish montana i would be glad to help wiht any info i could. thanks in advance

Mt. Mike, I'm doing the high bridge drift tomorrow (7/23) for the first time. I'll let you know how it was. Ric

Mt. Mike-
I've been fishing from High Bridge to Sultan and boated 10 fish in the last month. The float's not too bad; the first two sections are probably the most technical except for the log jam a little ways below Gold Bar. When you put in, go under the railroad trestle and hang left center. Go through the shoot and get on the oars and you'll dump into a nice pool-good spot to catch an early morning fish. The section right below the pool is a small rock garden, enter on the far left and slide the boat to right center and you should be clean.Fish the obvious tail-outs. The only other bad part is the log jam and you can walk around it if need be, other wise slide in on the left and get on the sticks. Good luck and rip a lip.
P.S. What day are you fishing? I'll be out on Saturday in a black and red Alumaweld.
