I have owned two Drift Boats. I had Arma-coat put on the first one and after two seasons had some scraps, but none clear through to the metal.My new boat has Coat-it on the bottom and it is flaking badly.Is that normal or was it maybe apllied wrong?What is everyones opinion on which is the better coating?Thanks,lester

when I bought my boat, it came with coat-it. The factory coating was way too thin....hardly a coat at all. I had some flaking but I have since sanded the stuff with a 50 grit orbital sander and ruffed it up good. I then applied 3 more coats on my own and have had good results since. When applied properly, the stuff is pretty durable, sufficiently slippery and flaking hasn't been a problem. A thick coat helps.

The only stuff that has come off is if I center-punch a rock BAD.....bad enough that it would take off any coating.

There was a previous thread about Titan discontinuing the stuff...I hope it's false...I like coat-it. Anybody got the poop on this???
