Got my first summer run in a while yesterday. Hit a #14 pink corky with pink yarn and sand shrimp on 6# flurocarbon leader. Lost two others, one because everyone was screwing around shooting the breeze and no net man. Tried to beach em and she spit the hook. Laid there looking at me, lifted a fin, as if to give me the bird and slowly swam off.
Lightning was cracking down in the parking lot at BC saturday am about 3:30. No one slept much.
Saw a good number of fish caught over the weekend.
Lots of smolt and little cutthroat in the river.
Drifted the stretch from Barrier dam to BC saturday afternoon. Very Quiet. No Sleds.
Very nice small sand shrimp at Barrier Dam Campground and don't forget about the raffle for the 20' foot wooldridge benefiting friends of the Cowlitz.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will spend the rest of his life drinking beer on a boat.
