I was reading an old book in the library "jig fishing for salmon" and I learned a few helpful hints.
1) jig heads can be dipped in Plasti Dip(tool handle dip) for extremely durable heads. I have tried this , and the coating will not come off when it gets beat upon rocks in the water. Unfortunately I have only seen it in three colors. Black, red, and blue.( sounds like the results of a bad barfight!) Anyway, I was hoping to find some other colors (i.e. white, and pink) but havn't had any luck.

2) another helpful tip is to take small guage chain (found in spools at the hardware store) and stretch it inside a box across two sides. cut notches on either side of the box and push the chain into the slots. Stick each jig hook into every other link on the chain. this makes a great holder for jigs when you are drying them for the plasti dip. also it is a great way to hold many jigs while you are spray painting them. This may be common knowledge, but I thought it was a good tip to share.
