Hi guys,

I am in the middle of trying to get access re-opened for the folks who fish the diversion dam area. Nothing is carved in stone, or for certain at this time.

I meet on Monday with some of the folks involved (WDFW, City of Aberdeen, etc), but I was wondering how many people would be available for monthly clean-up parties if I called out for some help. I'm not saying that I would hold you accountable to every clean-up, but maybe ask for help on a monthly basis from 2 or 3 different folks on a regular basis. If I could get 10 to 20 people who would help on "clean-up and fish" expeditions throughout the year on a rolling basis, it would work. Figure maybe 4 or more times a year per person.

I don't use the access, never have, but I am in a position to help, and I don't want to commit and then end up doing it myself every month.

Let me know your interest so that we have an opportunity to regain access to a popular bank access spot.

Thanks in advance!

Good for you........I email all the city council people last summer. Heard back from 2 of them, they "told me" the problem had been taken care of!!!!! Well, that's what they were told but what really happened is that the signs were left up all summer and are still there.

Bottom line......I'll do whatever it takes to keep "whatever" river access we have left. Some of us keep the lower part of the river bars clean and that is a full time job. Can't blame it on all the "out of towners" but I'm sure they do their share.......also swimmers and sun bathers tend to leave a mess.......grrrrrrrrrrr

Count me in!!!!!!!!

Lofty:

Got shut down about June 20, 2005......Property owners that live in that area, complained to City of Aberdeen personnel about "mess" that was left by "fishermen", papers, beer cans, pop cans, shimp containers, toilet paper, etc. and then 1 or 2 of the people that live close, have dogs that were barking and "keep the families awake".

I guess that some city council person even bought a camera out and took pictures......so based on that they closed a area that had been open to fisherpeople for longer than the 38 yrs. I've lived here.

OUTRAGEOUS! this is terrible news - seriously though our steelhead bretheren needs to clean up their act- too much trash from the river rats!
- go to any put-in/take-out spot in W WA and what will you find....? pop bottles, beer cans, bait containers, deer carcases, chew cans, tube socks, underwear, sweatshirts, egg cartons, sheetrock, dead muskrats w/ head/-cut off, dumped dead dogs in garbage sacks, carpet remnants...the list goes on...I've seen some of the sickest stuff period at these public spots. . . It's embarrasing to bring a child out to these spots. This is stuff that's completely avoidable.
What is strange is I never see anybody dump!? It must be when no-one is around and buzzed WT boy decides it's a good day to clean the cab of his rig!? I would love to catch someone in the act-
The worst garbage area i have found is on the
Skookumchuck river- some serious amounts of trash everywhere up there last year. I mean everywhere.
Again, I would love to catch someone in the act! I could seriously wreck someone's day if in the mood.

I hate loosing access spots thanks to White Trash ! What spot will we loose next ?
