Congratulations to the Trump and MAGA supporters for electing the Liar in Chief, Dictator in Chief, Pedophile in Chief, and Murderer in Chief. Release the Epstein files! If 1,000 FBI agents have to be assigned to reviewing and redacting sensitive i

So what's with the recent glitch that had this forum down for more than a week? It said the site was down temporarily for maintenance, but what does that really mean? It feels like the lights are flickering before they finally burn out for keeps.

Natural and logical consequences. Hunting and fishing have been declining for years, although fishing license sales experienced an uptick during the first two covid years. I'm not sure if they have resumed the downward trend. WDFW if obliged to &q

Lifter, that Columbia/trib endorsement is due to state budget cuts, not federal. Easy to confuse as there's lots of budget cuts, both state and federal. In British Columbia, it's mainly DFO that wants steelhead gone, nuisance species that they are.

I'm more glass haf full on this than most posting in this thread. The past few years were absolutely miserable, with right next to zero opportunity to fish for steelhead north of Willapa or south of the Hoh. We at least get January in the Chehalis tr

The Chehalis flooding is not that bad in tidewater thankfully. The rain and rise missed the King Tides a week or so back. Up river above Elma the valley is full but with 8 ft tides we are good. The Satsop took a real hit as did the upper Chehalis bu

I'm afraid you're right. Steelhead are just too hard for the managers to deal with. Plus, they are not really abundant enough to make a valuable commercial go of it. Pin k and chum, unfortunately, are the future because they need the least water on

Re: BC and WA steelhead by Lifter99 @ 12/11/25 05:14 AM

Steelheading is becoming more a thing of the past. When I am fishing the rivers for salmon in the fall guys I talk to talk more about catching a steelhead than a salmon. I tell the young guys I talk to on the rivers that there won't be much steelhead

The QIN rule the Chehalis system. Most of the Chehalis system rivers either close Feb. 16 or are not open at all. The Hump close Feb.2. The Upper Quinault is open for CnR until Mar. 31. Really? That wild steelhead run has been in the tank forever. W

BC and WA steelhead by Carcassman @ 12/10/25 04:15 PM

Been a lot of chatter lately about the decline of steelhead and fishing for them in BC and WA. Apparentlyy some of the conservation NGOs in BC have just noticed that Noah had more steelhead on the Ark than BC rivers. According to what I have been s

Closures by Carcassman @ 12/10/25 02:06 PM

Not sure if this is exactly the right place because it covers both hunting and fishing but here goes. Archery World in Lacey, and the rest of its shops, is closing. We lose an indoor range and a good pro shop. A short while back the only purely fly
