Should have stayed Murder 3 + Manslaughter. Easier to get the conviction. They MUST HAVE A conviction on this or all hell will break loose. Would make Rodney King riots look like a Sunday picnic. I'd rather that prick cop get 20 less years than nothing at all. He's a dead man anyway once he's on the inside. Just get him behind bars and let the inside team do the rest.
